Jesus Christ is my personal saviour, and my friend.

According to wikipedia there are more than 38,000 ‘christian’ denominations… but just because your denomination is included on the wikipedia list, it doesn’t necessarily or automatically mean that I will be willing to help you!

There are a wide number and variety of disagreements (between denominations, theologians, etc.) about which groups can be properly called ”christian’ – there’s a great article here about that and I’m sure that you won’t have to look far to find fellow-believers near to you to enjoy a good argument about it all.

However, what you believe is important to me – and so to make it easy for you andme here is a very simple statement of what I believe. I believe that, as confessing christians and followers of Jesus, we are called to:

  • Worship – exalting God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit
  • Fellowship – joining with other believers to grow closer to God and each other>
  • Discipleship – growing my faith and equipping and empowering fellow-believers
  • Ministry – embracing and serving others
  • Mission – reaching out to the lost and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ

And as a basic and fundamental theological position, I believe in the profound truth of the Apostles’ Creed – and this enables me to share fellowship and serve alongside other true Christ followers, without getting involved in complex debates:

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead; The third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.

Amen

If you unreservedly share in this simple belief, then we will be able to work together, for sure!
